I am not even sure if escalation to part 2 or part 3 is guaranteed. This means you need to travel three times to get to the final escalations, just imagine 3* 7 or 8 jumps. It will save you pain if you get locked out.Fleet Staging Point escalations are the total cancer IMO given they consist of three parts, as you can see here. The cost on it is going down lately.Īlways have a probe launcher, probes, cloak (unless you have them fitted already) and a mobile depot in your cargo hold. It also gets a substantial amount of DPS from drones. It has the advantage of no skill loss when you lose the ship. It's only weakness is that fitting a probe launch gimps it. CCP Rise gave the position recently that they will not be nerfed (as feared), rather the useless subsystem combinations will be made more useful.ĭo not cheap fit the ship, T3's benefit a lot from shiny. However, the cloaky scanning Legion is one of the coolest looking ships in the game since it looks like a mini Avatar.ĬCP is going to rebalance them soon. Of all four, the Legion is probably the least flexible as to what it does well. Lokis are very flexible as well and do most things well. You can fit a cloaky Proteus with an expanded probe launch and still have a fair amount of DPS. Proteus with blasters is the best for cloaky ganker. Legions are best for HAM's and neuts PvP, not so much for other things. If they lean towards shield, then a Tengu makes a lot of sense in that application. It is a pretty scary ship for solo-roaming as it's every solo site-runners nightmare to have a cloaky Proteus uncloak on top of them, but I still prefer my Loki in that situation due to speed and versatility.Įdit: I haven't seen a shield fleet in quite awhile, but something to consider is what your corp/alliance doctrines are. Not that it can't be done, but it just makes a lot more sense to do one of the others if you're more interested in PvE. The Proteus sees a lot of PvP use (maybe as much as the Loki) but no PvE use.at all. This doesn't mean you'll be left out, but possibly have fewer options. Unless you're PvE'ing solo, then the Tengu doesn't really see all that much use outside of some very niche roles. I've done a lot of duo-hunting with my mains cloaky Loki and my alt in a cloaky Legion, which is used mostly for neuts but does add some DPS, and the success rate is staggeringly high. In every situation, having an alt of some kind helps a lot and WH's adhere to that philosophy maybe more-so than any other area in the game. From PvE to PvP, if you're in a Loki then you'd be welcome to come along barring other non-ship specifics (like already having too many webbers doing escalations).Ī Loki can reliably solo-hunt with it's cloaky sub, as long as you know what you can take and what you can't. In my experience, a Loki is the most used T3 in WH culture overall. I don't recommend the legion, as it does not have a "good" cloaky sub.
Both ships, as well as the loki, have their merits. On the off chance you flew guristas faction with shield/drones I suggested the tengu second. Because you said you liked drones, I assumed you are skilled in the generic gallente/armor stuff, so I put the proteus first. For solo, you should really just go for what you have the best skills in, unless it's a legion. C4's to my knowledge can be done with a "few" RR BS's, but won't be as ISK efficient as solo-ing C3's.Īs I said, it all depends on your fleet comp for fleet work. C5 escalations are generally the limit as far as fleet sleeper farming is concerned. Results may vary.ĮDIT: Since you are admittedly new, perhaps my response could do with some explanations.įor capital escalations, the Loki is the go-to T3, because of the web bonus :)Ĭ3's are generally the limit as far as solo sleeper farming is concerned. "Small" gang: All depends on your fleet comp, but generally the legion is used for nuets/dps, loki is for webs/dps, proteus is for long-er point/dps, and tengu is for ECM.ĭISCLAIMER: All statements are from personal experience and the advice of some trusted, experienced individuals. Solo work: cloaky proteus > cloaky tengu > cloaky loki > cloaky legion
